The AHSS Shore Unit (PN: 093185) is a heat-stress system designed for use outdoors. A specially-designed weather enclosure protects the AHSS unit from harsh weather conditions and includes a built-in ventilation system to maintain air circulation.

Installation Tips

When installing an AHSS Shore Unit, keep in mind that the location plays a huge role in the accuracy of the measurements.

• The Globe sensor, which measures radiant energy and is located on the top of the weather enclosure, must be exposed to sunlight at all times during the day; if at any point a shadow is cast over the Globe sensor, the radiant energy measured will not be accurate.
• For this reason, it is important to avoid buildings, trees, and other large structures that could cast shadows on or block natural air flow around the Shore Unit.
• Also avoid installing the Shore Unit above asphalt, as radiating heat from the ground may affect the temperature readings.
